With just one outing left before the curtain falls on the 2025 Lira Corporate League (LCL), Super Selects are on the verge of making history as they tighten their grip at the top of the standings.
According to the latest table released by Gazelles Corporate Club on Monday, Super Selects lead the 17-team competition with 88 points, staying ahead of Decision Point (81 points) and Amuka Development SACCO (75 points).
The Lira Corporate League, now one of the region’s top social-sporting events, features multiple disciplines including football, ludo, 3×3 ladies’ basketball, sprints, tug of war, and pool.
The competition has reached fever pitch as corporate sides battle for the final points of the season. In football, Super Selects remain the team to beat, leading with 57 points from 29 matches. They have recorded 16 wins, 9 draws, and just 4 losses, scoring 32 goals and conceding only 10. Decision Point sit close behind with 55 points, while Amuka Development SACCO are third with 52.
Individually, Downtown’s Otyama Bonny leads the men’s scoring charts with 9 goals, followed by Decision Point’s Awai Innocent with 7. In the women’s category, DFCU Bank’s Alum Annet tops the list with 2 goals.
Beyond competition, the LCL has grown into a vibrant part of Lira’s corporate social life, promoting fitness, networking, and teamwork among professionals from Northern Uganda’s leading institutions.
With the final outing set for November, Super Selects need just a few more points to seal the championship. Organizers have also promised a colorful closing ceremony to celebrate champions across all categories and recognize standout performers.
