SC Villa has unveiled an Electoral Committee to oversee the club’s presidential elections scheduled for March 22.
The committee was constituted through the registered Trustees of the Villa Members’ Trust and will be chaired by Brian Kajuba. He will work alongside Brandon Katura and Desire Mukisa as members. The club has also released its electoral roadmap as preparations gather pace for the vote.
During a General Meeting held on Sunday, members resolved that any aspirant seeking to contest for the presidency must pay a non refundable registration fee of Shs100 million.
Incumbent president Omar Mandela is seeking another term, having previously served from 2021 to 2025. His tenure officially expired in November last year, a development that triggered debate among some members over the legality of his continued stay in office.
Mandela and the current leadership have maintained that the elections were postponed because they coincided with the National General Elections. According to the club leadership, that overlap prompted the decision to reschedule the exercise to March this year.
