Asubo Ladies’ turbulent campaign in the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League has officially ended in relegation following a crushing 8-0 loss to Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC on Saturday.
Despite clinging to a slim mathematical chance of survival before kickoff, the defeat — coupled with Lady Doves’ draw against Makerere University — sealed Asubo’s fate.
The side remains rooted on five points, while Lady Doves moved to 18, ensuring Asubo cannot reach safety even if they win all their remaining fixtures.
The result confirms Asubo’s drop to the second tier, joining Olila High School WFC as the two teams relegated this season.
It has been a campaign marked by unwanted records for Asubo. The team has conceded 57 goals — the highest tally in league history — including two separate 8-0 defeats, first against Kampala Queens and now Kawempe Muslim.
Their attack has fared no better, with the side enduring an 11-game goal drought and failing to register a single win all season.
Asubo Ladies will return to action on Saturday, April 11, when they visit Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Women FC. With four matches left, they will be playing for pride and the chance to end their season on a more positive note.
