Allan Okello is beginning to show the consistency many expected, putting together a string of impressive performances for Young Africans SC in the Tanzanian topflight.
The attacking midfielder is settling into his role as a creator, with his recent form highlighting his strengths as a playmaker.
While goals have been limited, Okello is increasingly influencing games through assists, an area that defines his style of play.
On Wednesday, he delivered one of his most complete performances yet, registering three assists in Young Africans’ 3-0 win over Pamba Jiji FC in the Ligi Kuu Bara.

Mudathir Yahya converted two of those chances in the first half, before Max Nzengeli added the third from Okello’s final assist after the break.
That performance followed another strong outing against Tanzania Prisons FC over the weekend, where Okello scored once and provided an assist in a similar 3-0 victory.
Across the two matches, he has registered five goal contributions, four assists and one goal, offering a glimpse of the player Young Africans invested heavily in during the January transfer window.

The former KCCA FC midfielder had initially struggled to make an impact after his move, managing just a single goal in his early appearances.
However, head coach Pedro Gonçalves maintained faith in him, consistently including him in the starting lineup.

That trust now appears to be paying off. Okello is growing into his role, dictating play and creating chances, signs that he is rediscovering the form that made him one of Uganda’s most promising attacking talents.
