Government has set August 2026 as the deadline for completion of key training facilities at Kyambogo University and Makerere University, as pressure mounts to align Uganda’s infrastructure with Confederation of African Football (CAF) requirements for Afcon 2027.
The directive comes amid intensified scrutiny of Uganda’s readiness to co-host the continental tournament alongside Kenya and Tanzania, following a recent Caf assessment report which indicated that several facilities in the country do not yet meet required standards.
