Kawempe and She Corporate Set For Winner-takes-all Final Day Showdown

The 2025/26 FUFA Women Super League season delivered the kind of finale that scripts itself into football folklore, a day of swinging emotions, shattered dreams and triumphant redemption.

At the heart of it all stood Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, who rose from the shadows of second place to reclaim the throne of Ugandan women’s football in breathtaking fashion.

The Valley Warriors entered the final day knowing the equation was painfully simple yet entirely out of their hands. They had to defeat Olila Women FC and pray league leaders She Corporate FC stumbled against She Maroons.

What followed was pure sporting drama.

At Valley Stadium, Kawempe handled their part of the bargain with the composure of champions. A commanding 3-1 victory over Olila ignited belief among the travelling faithful, but eyes and ears remained fixed elsewhere, where the title race still hung delicately in the balance.

Then came the twist.

She Corporate, who had spent the latter part of the season perched atop the table and seemingly destined for glory, faltered at the decisive moment. A tense, nervy encounter against She Maroons FC ended in a goalless draw, the single result Kawempe desperately needed.

As the final whistles echoed across the country, jubilation erupted.

Kawempe Muslim had completed one of the most dramatic title heists in recent FUFA Women Super League history, leapfrogging their rivals to finish the campaign as champions with 52 points, while She Corporate’s title dream evaporated in agonising fashion on the final day.

For Kawempe, the triumph further cements their status as one of the defining dynasties in Ugandan women’s football. The latest crown adds to their glittering collection from 2015, 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2023/24, bringing their tally to an extraordinary six league championships.

The victory also deepens an increasingly remarkable storyline tied to Vipers SC, whose influence continues to tower over Ugandan football. Kawempe Muslim operate as the women’s side affiliated to the Venoms, and while the ladies celebrated league glory, Vipers’ men are simultaneously marching toward the Uganda Premier League title, sitting atop the standings with just two matches left to play.

A golden season may yet be unfolding at St. Mary’s.

For now, however, the spotlight belongs to Kawempe Muslim Ladies, a team that refused to surrender hope, seized their moment when destiny cracked open, and once again ascended the summit of Ugandan football.
