Uganda Premier League giants SC Villa are in advanced talks to sign midfielder Amuli Mukasa from Lugazi FC as they continue preparations for the new season.
Sources close to the negotiations indicate that the player is nearing an agreement on a two-year contract with the record league champions, with discussions understood to be at an advanced stage.
Mukasa joined Lugazi midway through last season and quickly became a key figure in the team’s midfield. His displays helped the club secure its Uganda Premier League status, earning praise for his work rate, energy and consistency.
The midfielder has steadily built a reputation as one of the country’s promising young talents, attracting attention through a series of impressive performances in the heart of midfield.
Before his move to Lugazi, Mukasa featured for Kiyinda Boys FC in the FUFA Big League and also played for Ntugasaze FC, where he continued his development.
Away from club football, Mukasa has also enjoyed success in Buganda Kingdom competitions. He represented Ssingo Ssaza during the 2022 Masaza Cup campaign, helping the side reach the semi-finals. He has also featured for Nkima Clan in the Bika Bya Baganda Football Tournament.
Should the transfer be completed, Mukasa would become one of SC Villa’s notable additions ahead of the upcoming campaign as the Jogoos look to strengthen their squad for the challenges that lie ahead.
Neither SC Villa nor Lugazi FC has officially confirmed the move, although negotiations are understood to be progressing positively.
