Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have reportedly reached an agreement with Joel Sserunjogi, who is set to join the Venoms on a three-year contract after the expiry of his deal at KCCA FC.
Speculation linking the Uganda Cranes international to Kitende has intensified in recent days as Vipers continue reshaping their squad ahead of next season.
Sserunjogi arrived at KCCA at the start of the 2023/24 campaign and quickly established himself as one of the club’s most reliable midfielders. His composure, passing range, and tireless work rate earned him a regular place in the team while also catching the eye of the national selectors.
His standout performances secured him a place in the Uganda Cranes setup, where he played a key role during the country’s memorable run to the quarter-finals of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The midfielder’s expected arrival would add depth and quality to Vipers’ midfield as the reigning champions prepare for a demanding campaign that includes both domestic competitions and continental football.
The Kitende side has already bolstered its ranks with versatile defender Nicholas Mwere, who joined on a free transfer from BUL FC on a three-year deal, underlining the club’s proactive approach in the transfer market.
If finalized, Sserunjogi’s move would stand out as one of the headline signings of the Uganda Premier League transfer window, reinforcing Vipers’ ambitions for another title defence and a strong showing in CAF competitions.
