The outgoing Chief Executive Officer of UPDF FC, Lance Corporal Walter Mambo, has expressed gratitude to the club and the UPDF leadership after stepping down during the club’s Annual General Meeting held at Ndere Cultural Centre in Ntinda.
Mambo’s exit comes after the club confirmed changes in its top management structure, with Lieutenant Sheldon Turyamureeba taking over the role of Chief Executive Officer. The reshuffle is part of a wider leadership update aimed at strengthening the club’s administration and development strategy.
Speaking after his tenure, Mambo highlighted his appreciation for the opportunity to serve within the military-backed club system and reflected on the experience he gained while in office.
He said, “I thank the Army leadership for entrusting me with this responsibility, which enabled me to gain valuable experience in football administration and leadership,”
His remarks marked a calm and appreciative exit, underscoring a focus on learning and service during his time at the helm.
The AGM also saw broader structural changes, including the election of Brigadier General Richard Karemire as club chairman, signalling a new leadership direction for UPDF FC as it seeks to strengthen governance and improve competitiveness across all its teams.
