Kitara Eye Revival Against Police

Kitara Football Club, coming off a disappointing 2-0 defeat to KCCA, will look to bounce back against Police in a crucial Uganda Premier League match at the Royals Park Stadium on Thursday, October 3rd at 4 PM.

The Royals, currently languishing in the bottom five of the league standings, are eager to secure their first home win of the season and improve their morale ahead of the upcoming international break.

Police, on the other hand, have been in impressive form, remaining unbeaten in their last three matches.

However, coach Simon Mugerwa is well aware of the threat posed by Kitara and has urged his players to approach the game with caution.

Kitara Head Coach Brian Ssenyondo expressed his determination to turn things around.

“We are coming into this game with a sense of urgency to rectify our recent performances. We have learned valuable lessons from our previous matches and are confident in our ability to deliver a strong showing,” he said.

Ssenyondo also highlighted the importance of a positive result for the team’s title aspirations.

“While we have faced setbacks, our goal of challenging for the championship remains intact. We are making steady progress and believe that our objectives are still achievable,” he said.

The upcoming encounter will mark the fifth time since the 2022/23 season that Kitara and Police have faced off in the league.

The visitors hold a slight edge in the head-to-head record with two wins, one draw, and one loss.

Kitara will be without Rogers Mugisha and Erick Muber due to injuries, but the rest of the squad is expected to be available for selection.

Solomon Okwalinga, who missed the trip to Lugogo, is in contention to feature subject to a late fitness test.

Jasper Aheebwa and Dudu Ramadhan are expected to return to the squad after the international break.
