Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided positive news on the fitness of Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhaes.
The center-back, who sustained a knee injury during the recent clash against Liverpool, is expected to be available for the upcoming Premier League match against Newcastle United.
Gabriel’s swift recovery is a significant boost for the Gunners, who have been plagued by injury issues this season.
The defender’s potential return will provide a much-needed defensive reinforcement as Arsenal aim to maintain their strong start to the campaign.
While Gabriel’s recovery is on track, the situation surrounding Ben White remains uncertain.
The English defender, who also missed the midweek Carabao Cup match against Preston North End, is yet to return to training. Arteta indicated that a final decision on White’s availability will be made closer to the Newcastle game.
Another key player sidelined with injury is Martin Odegaard. The Norwegian captain is progressing well in his recovery from an ankle injury but is unlikely to feature against Newcastle.
His return is expected to be delayed until after the upcoming international break.
In other injury news, Arsenal will continue to be without Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney, while Riccardo Calafiori is facing a spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury.
