Emmanuel Okwi was the hero for AS Kigali, scoring twice in their 2-1 victory over Bugesera in the Rwanda Premier League on Saturday.
The Ugandan striker opened the scoring in the 9th minute and added his second in the 56th.
Despite a late goal by Bugesera’s Iradukunda Djarudi in the 77th minute, Kigali held on for all three points.
Okwi’s brace brings his league tally to five goals, making him the second-highest scorer, just behind Rayon Sport’s Fall Ngagne, who leads with six.
AS Kigali now sit second on the league table with 23 points from 12 games, trailing Rayon Sport by seven points.
The stakes are high as Kigali prepare to host leaders Rayon Sport on December 14 in a crucial top-of-the-table clash.
