USSSA Ball Games II Lacrosse: Kigezi Boys Bounce Back to Stun Hosts as Nabisunsa Girls Run Riot

Kigezi High School pulled off the first big upset of the USSSA Ball Games II Lacrosse Championship on Monday, edging past hosts St. Peter’s College Tororo 10–7 to register their first-ever win at the national level.

The victory came just 24 hours after their opening day drubbing at the hands of Bombo Army Secondary School.

Coaches Nsubuga Faisal and American tactician John Sprinkle were all smiles after the final whistle, crediting the team’s rapid tactical adjustments.

It was a massive morale boost for the Kigezi boys, who now carry momentum into their next fixtures, hoping to push for a top finish and a spot at next month’s FEASSA Games in Kenya.

In the girls’ category, Nabisunsa Girls School showed no signs of slowing down.

They demolished Kigezi High School 16–0 in one of the most dominant performances of the tournament so far.

Earlier in the day, Muzza High School had handed Kigezi another heavy defeat, winning 11–1. However, Muzza’s momentum didn’t last long. In their second match, they ran into a ruthless Bombo Army side and were swept aside 14–3.

The results solidify Bombo Army and Nabisunsa as early favorites in the girls’ bracket, with both teams unbeaten and looking sharper with each game.
