The 2025 Mr and Miss Central Region Bodybuilding Championship will light up the UMA show grounds in Lugogo, Kampala this Saturday, September 20.
More than 50 athletes are expected to battle across six weight classes: bantam, welter, lightweight, middle, light heavy and heavyweight.
Organised by Supplex Gym, the day will feature far more than the traditional flexing. Fans can expect arm-wrestling contests, men’s physique and women’s bikini categories, a Persons With Disabilities class and a range of fitness events. Action starts at noon.
The overall winner will take home a grand prize of 10 million Uganda shillings. Big names already confirmed include Hussein Mbajja Phinito and Miyagi Pharooq, both crowd favourites on the local bodybuilding scene.
Spectators can choose from four ticket tiers: Bronze at 20,000 shillings, Silver at 50,000, Gold at 100,000 and a one-million-shilling table option.
The championship has attracted wide sponsorship, with support from Uganda Fitness Elites, Rosefoam, J&L Industries, Rz Motorcycle Tubes and Brakes, NBS Sport, Buganda Kingdom, Fruit City, Victoria University and Scott Sports Nutrition, among others.
This year’s edition is dedicated to the late bodybuilder Axam Kisseka, who passed away in May after a long illness, a tribute that adds emotional weight to an already highly anticipated event.
