The 2025 City Tyres East Africa Badminton Challenge was officially launched on Thursday, setting the stage for four days of top-tier regional competition from October 16 to 19 at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium in Kampala.
Now in its eighth edition, the tournament will bring together elite shuttlers from Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania to battle for trophies and cash prizes. Entries are open until October 13.
The launch was held at the City Tyres head office in the Industrial Area and attended by Mr. Wang Feng, President of Ling Long Tyres, and Mr. Ahmed Omar Mandela, Chairman of the Mandela Group of Companies, who are the event’s title sponsors.
Ugandan players are already in intensive training at the Mandela Sports Arena.
The event will feature a wide range of categories, including juniors, seniors, corporates, and team competitions, promising four days of high-level action for fans and players alike.
