Singaporean golfer Shannon Tan has been crowned 2024 Magical Kenya Ladies Open champion at the the PGA Baobab Vipingo Ridge golf cause on Sunday to pocket Ugx 185 million (Euro 45,000).
Tan, who won the tournament on her Ladies European Tour (LET) debut, carded a final round of 3 under par 70 to taker her total score for the tournament to 12 under par 280.
Tan rolled in birdies on holes two, three and five to put herself in pole position before dropping a shot on the sixth.
However, she made another birdie on seven before making a bogey on the eighth and her final birdie came on 11 for a round of 70 (-3) to seal a four-shot victory with a total of 12-under-par.
The teenager secured her full LET card at Lalla Aicha Q-School in December while still an amateur and was making her first start on the LET as a pro.
It is the second professional victory for Tan in her career, after she won the Singapore Ladies Masters on the China LPGA Tour in July 2023, but her first since turning professional.
Italian Alessandra Fanali scored 8 under par 284 to settled for second and walk home with Ugx 111 million (Euro 27,000) while Manon De Roey from Belgium completed the podium finish on 4 under par 288, getting Ugx 48 million prize money.
