Uganda’s badminton stars put on an inspired show at the 2025 Uganda International Badminton Series, wrapping up the competition with six medals at Lugogo Arena.
Leading the way were Shamika Fadilah and Tracy Naluwooza, who thrilled fans with their chemistry and resilience on court, clinching silver in the women’s doubles. Their run to the final was one of Uganda’s standout moments of the event.
Uganda’s medal haul also included four bronze medals.
In the mixed doubles, Muzafaru Lubega and Husina Kobugabe fought hard to secure third place, while Meble Namakoye and Rajab Shamsa Mbira each claimed bronze in their respective categories.
The international field proved highly competitive, with Malaysia dominating the medal standings after collecting four golds, two silvers, and four bronzes. India followed closely with one gold, four silvers, and five bronzes.
In total, 112 players from 13 countries took part in this year’s event, reflecting the tournament’s growing prestige on the global badminton circuit.
