Luuka stormed into the semifinals of the MTN Busoga Masaza Cup after a commanding 3-0 win over Bulamogi at Kyabanziga Stadium, Bugembe, on Sunday.
The star of the day was Kasakya Ibrahim, who delivered a brilliant hat-trick to seal his team’s place among the last four.
Kasakya wasted no time, putting Luuka ahead in the fifth minute with a composed finish. He doubled the lead just two minutes into the second half, smashing home a powerful strike off a long ball from goalkeeper Oroma Richard.
Four minutes later, Kasakya completed his hat-trick, capping off a sensational individual performance that left Bulamogi with no response.
In the other quarterfinal played at the same venue, Bugabula produced a dramatic comeback to edge Bunha 3-2 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in normal time.
Bunha had taken the lead through Sajjabi Ibrahim, who pounced on a defensive lapse to score from close range. But Bugabula refused to give in, with Kazindula Magidu rising highest to head home the equalizer in the 87th minute.
The match went to penalties, where Bugabula goalkeeper Oboya Musa emerged as the hero, saving three spot kicks to guide his side to the semifinals.
The semifinal fixtures are set for October 17 at Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe. Kigulu will face Bukooli Namayingo in the early kickoff at 12:00 PM, before Luuka and Bugabula clash at 4:00 PM in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.
