Former West Ham and Chelsea manager Graham Potter is in rapid discussions to take over as the new head coach of the Sweden national football team.
The 50-year-old is set to replace Jon Dahl Tomasson, who was sacked this week after Sweden’s disastrous start to their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign left them bottom of Group B.
Potter is a popular choice due to his highly successful seven-year spell with Ostersunds FK (2011-2018), where he guided the club from the fourth tier to the top division and won the Swedish Cup.
While his recent club career included short tenures at Chelsea and West Ham, the Swedes are desperate for a change after accumulating only one point from four qualifiers, despite having high-profile players like Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres in their squad.
