Elena Rybakina secured her spot in the WTA Finals semi-finals with a decisive comeback victory over world number two Iga Swiatek in Riyadh.
After losing the first set 3-6, the former Wimbledon champion dominated the remainder of the match, winning 12 of the final 13 games to take the victory 3-6, 6-1, 6-0.
The win snaps Rybakina’s four-match losing streak against Swiatek.
Rybakina found her serving rhythm, while Swiatek struggled, committing 36 unforced errors in the final two sets.
Rybakina’s qualification for the knockout stage was confirmed later when Amanda Anisimova staged her own comeback to defeat Madison Keys 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
