The SMACK League will welcome a major attraction this Sunday as the Guinness Matchday Truck rolls into the IUEA Sports Ground in Kansanga, turning the venue into a full Premier League viewing arena.
The activation on November 23 will allow fans to watch Arsenal against Tottenham and Leeds United against Aston Villa on large outdoor screens while enjoying the regular league fixtures.
Uganda Breweries Limited says the truck is designed to take the Premier League atmosphere directly to fans. Mercy Atwongyeire, Project Manager for Premium Beer, said the setup removes the need for supporters to hurry to bars or homes to catch the action.
She noted that the truck is part of a wider effort to deliver a complete matchday experience built around connection, energy, and top level football.
The Guinness Matchday Truck will also feature at the Mwiri League season opener on Saturday at the same venue before switching to the SMACK League the following day.
Matchday five of the SMACK League, hosted by Bushmen from the class of 2001 and Pirates from the class of 2012, will also mark the league’s commemoration of World Prematurity Day.
The league continues to deepen its social impact work after recently partnering with Kuliva Foundation for a clothing donation drive on matchday three.
Earlier this week, during the national World Prematurity Day activities at KNRH, Mama Tulia together with Pirates and Bushmen donated a refrigerator and two water filters to support breast milk storage and provide safe drinking water.
The weekend activation will involve the broader alumni community, with proceeds from raffle tickets supporting Mama Tulia’s 2026 preterm programs. Tickets cost ten thousand, fifty thousand, and one hundred thousand shillings, with more details available on the league’s digital channels.
The matchday will run under the theme Men’s Involvement in Prematurity. SMACK League Chief Marketing Officer David Kawooya said the focus reflects the league’s expanding purpose beyond competition.
He noted that sport offers a strong platform for community impact and encouraged fans to participate generously.
On the pitch, matchday five offers key games as the season begins to take shape. Block Owners, placed sixth in Pool A, face a derby test against Window who are still searching for their first win.
Vendors lead Pool A with twelve points and will meet former champions Zimbaz. Pirates, who top Pool B, will face Bushmen who sit fifth in Pool A in the final fixture of the day. Eleven matches are scheduled in total.
