The Uganda Table Tennis Association has secured a Ug.Shs 40,000,000 boost from Legacy Productions Limited ahead of the 2026 Kateregga Memorial Schools and Institutions Table Tennis Championship, marking a major step in the competition’s return after a ten year absence.
The three day tournament will run from Friday, 27th February to Sunday, 1st March 2026 at the Lugogo Indoor Arena in Kampala, targeting primary schools, secondary schools and universities from across the country.
Legacy Productions confirmed the financial commitment and pledged full audio visual production for the championship, including high quality live graphics, professional video coverage and enhanced broadcast presentation aimed at lifting the sport’s profile.
“Legacy Productions Limited is delighted to partner with the Uganda Table Tennis Association for the Kateregga Memorial Schools and Institutions Table Tennis Open. We shall provide complete audio-visual production for all three days of the event. Our goal is to elevate Table Tennis to international standards through quality graphics and professional video coverage, creating a great experience for both players and fans,” said Jude Ssempebwa, Director of Legacy Productions Limited.
Ssempebwa officially handed over a dummy cheque to UTTA President Cyrus Mark Muwanga at a ceremony held at the company’s offices in Lungujja, Rubaga. The company operates from Plot 10, Sembera Road and has built its reputation in audio visual services, event management, staging, power generation, lighting and online broadcasting under the tagline, “providing favorable tailored solutions with a touch of perfection.”
Muwanga described the partnership as timely, particularly as the association works to grow the sport at grassroots and institutional level.

Additional support has come from School Pay, which has contributed Ug.Shs 5,000,000 towards the championship.
The revived Kateregga Memorial Open is expected to attract wide participation from schools and institutions nationwide, restoring a key fixture to the national table tennis calendar.
Outstanding players and teams will be rewarded with certificates, plaques and trophies as UTTA seeks to re establish the competition as a pathway for nurturing young talent and raising standards ahead of continental ambitions.
