Ykee Benda Backs Arsenal Title Charge Ahead of Guinness EPL Finale Event

Guinness has unveiled plans for a major Premier League season finale watch party at Millennium Grounds in Lugogo as fans prepare for what could be a dramatic end to the 2025/26 campaign.

The event, scheduled for Sunday, May 24, will coincide with Championship Sunday, when all 10 Premier League fixtures kick off simultaneously at 6pm East African Time.

The watch party was officially launched on Tuesday during a media engagement event held at Uganda Breweries Ltd in Luzira. The launch featured a panel discussion reflecting on one of the most competitive Premier League seasons in recent years and the expectations surrounding the title race finale.

The panel included Guinness Brand Manager Denise Paula Nazzinda, musician and Arsenal supporter Ykee Benda, and sports commentator Elly Kyeyune.

According to Nazzinda, the Lugogo finale will be the biggest activation of the season after Guinness carried out several Matchday on Tour experiences across the country.

“Beyond the football, fans should expect a full entertainment experience with live performances from some of the current favourite performers, including Elijah Kitaka and Azawi, alongside top DJs. Expect exciting fan engagements, matchday minutes giveaways, and an overall electric atmosphere.

“It is not just another watch party. It is the ultimate celebration of the Premier League season, where everything we have done throughout the different tours comes together in one massive fan experience,” Nazzinda said.

The Guinness Matchday Truck is expected to headline the experience at Millennium Grounds, with organisers promising a stadium-like atmosphere for supporters following the final-day action.

Attention remains firmly on the Premier League title race, with Manchester City and Arsenal locked in a tense battle heading into the closing stages of the season.

Ykee Benda expressed confidence that Arsenal could finally end their lengthy wait for the league title, describing the current campaign as emotional for long-time supporters.

“It’s been a long time, but this feels like the time. The almost two-decade wait is nearly over,” he said.

The singer also revealed that his connection to Arsenal comes from his family, particularly his father, who remains a passionate supporter.

“My father is a diehard Arsenal fan. He’s now in his 70s and every single win means so much to him. These days he calls me after every Arsenal victory. Arsenal was my first love before music and that connection has never changed,” he said.

Reflecting on Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Burnley on Monday night, Ykee Benda added: “At this stage of the season, it’s no longer just about beautiful football. What matters is getting the points.”

He also called on football fans across rival divides to attend the event and experience the climax of the season together.

Kyeyune described the 2025/26 campaign as one of the most entertaining Premier League seasons in recent memory and said the final day could cement its place among the league’s best title races.

“By the time we reach the final day, many people will look back at this as one of the greatest Premier League seasons we have witnessed in years,” Kyeyune said.

Fans attending the event at Millennium Grounds will have access to live screenings of all matches, entertainment performances, discounted food and drinks, and fan engagement activities. Entry will be granted upon the purchase of two bottles of Guinness.
