Four Semi-final Places Up For Grabs in FUFA Women’s Cup Quarter-finals

The race for the 2026 FUFA Women’s Cup enters a crucial stage this weekend, with eight teams battling for four semi-final places in a series of quarter-final fixtures that promise drama, rivalries and high stakes.

With the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League season now concluded, attention has shifted fully to the knockout competition as clubs look to finish their campaigns with silverware.

Saturday’s action is headlined by a renewed rivalry between Kampala Queens and St Noa Girls at MTN Omondi Stadium. The fixture is a repeat of last season’s quarter-final encounter, when St Noa Girls edged Kampala Queens 3-2 to reach the semi-finals.

Kampala Queens will be determined to avoid a repeat of that disappointment as they chase a trophy after narrowly missing out on the league title. However, they will be without suspended forward Catherine Nagadya, who was sent off in the previous round against She Kasese.

St Noa Girls arrive buoyed by a strong debut season in the top flight and eager to continue their impressive cup run. They will, however, be missing forward Marion Serenge, who is away on international duty with Kenya’s Harambee Starlets.

The second quarter-final on Saturday will see Lady Doves host UCU Lady Cardinals at Katusabe Ground in Masindi. Both sides enjoyed competitive league campaigns and view the cup as a realistic path to silverware.

Lady Doves will hope to use home advantage to their benefit, while UCU Lady Cardinals will look to rely on their experience in knockout football. The closely matched sides are expected to produce one of the most evenly contested ties of the round.

Sunday’s fixtures will determine the remaining two semi-finalists.

At Jeph International Ground, She Maroons host reigning champions Amus College WFC in a meeting that pits one of the country’s emerging sides against the tournament holders.

Amus College remain on course to defend the trophy they won last season, but She Maroons have demonstrated throughout the campaign that they can compete with the best teams in the country and will be eager to cause an upset.

League champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies will welcome Wakiso Hill WFC to Kawempe Muslim SS Ground in the final quarter-final fixture.

Fresh from winning the league title, Kawempe Muslim enter the match with confidence and the possibility of completing a domestic double. Their consistency throughout the season has made them one of the favourites for the cup.

Wakiso Hill, however, have already shown their ability to upset the odds after eliminating She Corporate in the previous round. They will be hoping to produce another surprise result and halt Kawempe Muslim’s march towards the semi-finals.

FUFA has also confirmed that the quarter-finals will use a different format from the previous round. If teams are level after normal time, the matches will go to extra time before a penalty shootout is used to determine the winner if scores remain tied.

With a place in the last four at stake and several of the country’s top women’s teams still in contention, the weekend’s fixtures are expected to provide a defining chapter in the battle for the 2026 FUFA Women’s Cup.
