Kigezi Homeboyz FC have made history, clinching promotion to the Uganda Premier League for the 2026/27 season and ending a 25‑year absence from the top flight.
The club’s rise was confirmed at the close of the FUFA Big League season, joining Blacks Power FC, Ntugasaze FC, and Kataka FC in earning promotion.
The famous Kigezi hills will now host Uganda’s elite clubs once again. CEO Brian Akankwasa praised the collective effort of sponsors, players, staff, and supporters, stressing that the achievement was built on dedication and hard work.
Head coach Sadiq Ssempigi described the campaign as “challenging but rewarding,” thanking God for guiding the team to this milestone. Despite a 1‑0 defeat to CATDA FC in Kabale on the final day, Homeboyz’s 51 points secured fourth place and the final promotion slot.
