Christian Eriksen collapsed during Denmark’s friendly against Ukraine but is now conscious and stable, according to the Danish FA.
The 34‑year‑old fell to the ground in the 65th minute, forcing the match to be abandoned. Team doctor Morten Boesen said Eriksen’s Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator responded as intended, reviving him quickly. He walked off the pitch and was taken to hospital for further tests.
Players from both sides formed a protective ring around him, echoing scenes from Euro 2020 when he suffered a cardiac arrest. Denmark captain Pierre‑Emile Højbjerg admitted the incident was “a shock,” but praised the swift medical response.
Eriksen, now at Wolfsburg, was making his 151st international appearance. Coach Brian Riemer stressed unity after the abandonment, saying Eriksen had sent his regards and was “doing well.”
