Manchester City are in advanced talks to appoint Enzo Maresca as Pep Guardiola’s successor, but Chelsea insist they are owed compensation after his January exit despite a contract running to 2029.
Maresca, 46, was Guardiola’s assistant during City’s Treble in 2023 and later guided Leicester to Premier League promotion.

City are also chasing Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson after an opening bid was rejected, with Forest holding out for a fee beyond the £105m Arsenal paid for Declan Rice.
