Uganda Hockey Association has unveiled a restructuring of its technical team for the Senior National Hockey Teams, set to take effect on May 1st, 2024, for a duration of one year, subject to periodic administrative and performance evaluations.
The move follows a rigorous evaluation and consultation process, with several key appointments and reappointments being confirmed.
Leading the team management are Bridget Baine and Byron Matovu, entrusted with the crucial role of Team Managers. In the realm of coaching, Moses Nsereko takes charge of the Women’s team, while Vincent Kasasa assumes leadership for the Men’s team as Head Coaches.
Supporting the head coaches are Martin Okello for the Women’s team and Bernard Bwire for the Men’s team, appointed as Assistant Coaches. The goalkeeping department sees the appointment of former assistant goal keeping coach Dulf Musoke to oversee both the Women’s and Men’s teams.
Emmanuel Ewochu will serve as the team’s Doctor, ensuring the health and well-being of the athletes, while Desire Mukisa and Solomon Ogwal will provide physiotherapy support for the Women’s and Men’s teams respectively.
Rounding out the technical team is Joshua Masawi, appointed as the Kit Manager, responsible for ensuring that the teams are equipped with the necessary gear and equipment.
Each member of the newly appointed technical team brings a wealth of experience and passion for the sport, poised to fuel the ongoing growth and success of Ugandan hockey.
According to Uganda Hockey Association, these adjustments aim to foster a dynamic and supportive environment for the athletes, enabling them to reach their full potential both on and off the field.
