Tororo’s Son, Villa’s Champion: The Kenneth Ssemakula Story

Kenneth Ssemakula is the kind of player who leaves everything on the pitch. With his boundless energy and infectious dedication, he’s been the heartbeat of SC Villa since joining and growing through the ranks to become club captain. And today, as the team celebrates their 17th UPL title and their first in 20 years, Kenneth’s  smile says it all.

Growing up in Tororo district , Kenneth’s love for football was sparked at True Vine Soccer Academy at the King George IV Memorial Stadium , where he joined at just 7 years old. Coach Oundo Ronald saw something special in the young boy and nurtured his talent. Kenneth’s dedication and passion earned him a spot on the City Tyres under 14 team, where he was voted MVP in the Eastern Region. He was just getting started.

As he grew older, Kenneth’s awards and accolades piled up. He shone at Airtel Raising Stars under 17, winning the best player award at the national tournament in Lira. His talent and leadership qualities caught the eye of Coach Abbey, who brought him to Jinja SSS. Kenneth’s educational journey took him from Rock View School to Rock High School and eventually Jinja SSS

Kenneth’s professional career began at Bul FC before joining SC Villa, where he’s become an integral part of the team. He’s played various roles, from defense to midfield, for both club and country. His composure and demeanor, even in the most intense moments, have earned him the respect of teammates and opponents alike.

But Kenneth’s impact goes beyond his impressive skills on the pitch. He’s a natural leader, always motivating his teammates and lifting their spirits. His humility and kindness have made him a beloved figure in the SC Villa family.
