Kampala City Council Authority Football Club have this morning travelled to Burundi for the Nkurunziza Cup after they were invited by Burundian side , Aigle Noir Sports Club.
The tournament tournament is organized every year in memory of Late President Nkurunziza.
This happens just a day after Rulani Mokwena the co-head coach of Mamelodi Sundowns finalized his sessions with the Kasiro boys on up-skilling which is in line with the Club’s Five Years Strategic Plan under the Key Result area 5 which is Strategic Partnerships and Alliances.
The objectives of the visit was also to leverage new existing collaborations, create a competitive advantage for the club and broaden the club’s capabilities according to a statement by Moses Magero the Club’s PRO.
A club statement on their official website related to their departure to Burundi for the tournament read read ;
“KCCA FC was invited by Burundian side, Aigle Noir Sports Club to take part in the “Nkurunziza Cup” Match organized each year in memory of Late President Pierre Nkurunziza.
This will be the second edition of the cup and for this year, it coincides with the opening ceremonies of Aigle Noir SC Stadium called “NKURUNZIZA PEACE PARK COMPLEX” in Makamba Province.
KCCA FC will travel to Burundi from 22nd – 27th June 2022.
