Uganda will field athletes in nine disciplines at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, marking the country’s 17th appearance at the prestigious event.
The contingent will compete in Athletics, 3×3 Basketball, Boxing, Track Cycling, Netball, Swimming, Para Swimming, Judo, and Para Powerlifting. Weightlifting could also be added, pending final qualification, with confirmation expected by the end of May.
Uganda heads into Glasgow aiming to build on its success at the 2022 Games, where the team secured five medals—three gold and two bronze.
Long-distance star Jacob Kiplimo stole the show with double gold in the 5,000m and 10,000m, while Victor Kiplangat made history by winning Uganda’s first marathon gold. Peruth Chemutai claimed bronze in the 3,000m steeplechase, and boxer Teddy Nakimuli added another bronze to the tally.
Across its Commonwealth Games history, Uganda has amassed 58 medals—19 gold, 16 silver, and 23 bronze—dominated by athletics and boxing.
