Rogers Adriko was the star of the show as UPDF FC put an end to a run of poor results by defeating Gaddafi FC in Bombo on Wednesday.
Adriko who has exhibited flashes of brilliance this season scored a hattrick in the 3-1 League win.
As early as the second minute, the hosts were awarded a penalty after Godfrey Lwesibawa was adjudged to have brought down Rogers Mugisha in the box and Adriko dispatched the resultant spot kick.
UPDF was once again awarded a penalty in the 33rd minute after defender Andrew Waiswa handled the ball in the area. Adriko calmed his nerves again and slotted from 12-yards.
Gaddafi got their consolation through Brian Kalumba to set up a tense finale at Bombo.
However, Ariko put the result beyond doubt, three minutes from time to ensure UPDF snaps a 9-game winless run and register their second victory of the season.
Victory takes UPDF to 12th place on 10 points while Gaddafi on the other hand remain 7th with 18 points.
The StarTimes Uganda Premier League returns on Friday with three games on the card.
