Police fired rubber bullets and tear gas to break up clashes between Olimpia and Cerro Porteño fans in Asunción, forcing Sunday’s Superclásico to be abandoned after 29 minutes at 0–0.
Around 100 supporters were detained, while six police officers were injured—one seriously. Olimpia demand three points under APF rules, but Cerro argue hosts were responsible for security.
The ruling could prove decisive, with six points separating the rivals at the top of Paraguay’s Division de Honor.
