Giosue Ebong Bellagambi, a Ugandan goalkeeper has joined Salford City FC, a professional football club that competes in League two (the fourth tier of the English football league system) on loan from Huddlesfield Town for the remainder of the 2022-23 season.
The goalkeeper spent the first half of the season on loan at Spennymoor Town in the National League North, having had various spells in non-league on loan from the Terriers. This is a first loan in the Football League for the Ugandan international, and is subject to EFL and FA ratification.Since signing for Huddlesfield Town FC in 2020, Bellagambi has been loaned on various clubs such as at Ramsbottom United where he made 4 appearances. His second loan was with Ebbsfleet United, which ended in March 2021 and had a month-long loan with Stalybridge Celtic in August 2021 while on 27 December 2021, he joined Brighouse Town on a 28-day loan. On 26 January 2022, he extended his Huddersfield Town contract until 2024. On 8 August 2022, he moved to Hyde United on a three-month loan. On 6 October 2022, his loan was cut short by Huddersfield. The following day, he signed on loan at National League North side Spennymoor Town on a loan until 2 January 2023 and its on this grounds that he joined Salford City FC.
He made his senior Uganda national team debut in a 0–0 friendly tie with Libya on 21 September 2022 at Martyrs of February Stadium.
Bellagambi was born in England to an Italian father and Ugandan mother. He attended Bishop Thomas Grant School in his secondary education where he further joined Arsenal on a scholarship.
