Hippos head coach Jackson Mayanja has confirmed his final squad that will represent Uganda in the forthcoming AFCON U20 on February 19 to March 11, 2023.
The final squad, consisting of 25 players, is set to travel to Egypt today evening, where they will have a few friendly matches to play before the tournament starts.
Kiano Kitariko, Abdu Shakur, Ramsey Jemba, Shaun Ssenkubuge, and Wakiso Giants goalkeeper Venacious Nsumba are among the players that have been cut from the team.
Pius Ssebulime, Faisal Wabyoona of KCCA FC, and Hassan Mubiru of Express FC also failed to get themselves among the 25 selected players.
For the AFCON U-20 competition, the Uganda Hippos will compete in Group B alongside nations like the African Republic, South Sudan, and Congo Brazzaville.
