The Nile Special Uganda Rugby Premier League returns today as the current table leaders, Stanbic Black Pirates look to secure their fifth win of the season when they face off sixth placed Plascon Mongers in Entebbe at 4pm. Having convincingly taken on the Toyota Buffaloes at the Kings Park Arena in their previous outing, the Stanbic Black Pirates will look to tame their hosts, the Plascon Mongers as they look to keep their winning run intact.
Meanwhile, the second-placed Kobs look to secure their fourth win of the season when they take on the Toyota Buffaloes who are currently sitting fifth on the table. Both teams will look to come off from their upsets in their previous outings as the Kobs narrowly lost to the Platinum Credit Heathens 17-15, a game that even saw them lose their full-back Allan Kasiito to a head injury after being tackled by Charles Uhuru of the Heathens. The Kobs look to close the gap on the table leaders, the Black Pirates, and a win today at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds will do for them. The game will kick off at 4pm.
The reigning champions, Platinum Credit Heathens, will start their life without Charles Uhuru who received a 15-match ban after a horrendous tackle on Kobs’ full-back Allan Kasiito in their previous outing as they visit the Jinja Hippos at the Dam Waters grounds. The Heathens will miss the leadership of Uhuru and his importance in the exploits that he makes on the lines. Heathens coach Mohammed Athiyo will now look to the likes of Joachim Chisano and Shawn Baseka to try and chip in as his team looks to secure their fourth win in the League. The game will be a mouth-watering encounter and will be broadcast live on NBS Sport at 3pm.
In other games, the third-placed Makerere-based Impis Rugby Club will be hosted by the Rhinos at Legends Rugby Grounds. The Impis will also look to secure their fifth win of the season as they close in on the table leaders, the Stanbic Black Pirates. The Walukuba Barbarians will be looking for their first win of the season as they visit the eighth-paced Rams at the Makerere Rugby Grounds, who are also without a win in their previous four outings. The game will kick-off at 4pm
