Jackson Mayanja , Mia Mia appointed KCCA interim manager

UPL side KCCA fc  have come out to appoint club legend Jackson Mayanja as their interim manager, replacing Morley Byekwaso who resigned from the positions after their exit from the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

The Kasasiro boys yesterday afternoon before the announcement faced a defeat on the road to Uganda Revenue Authority tainting their title hopes .

The statement on their website stated;

KCCA FC has appointed Jackson “Mia Mia’ Mayanja as the Interim Head Coach until end of June 2023.

Mayanja is a KCCA FC legend who played and coached the club.

‘Mia Mia’ is regarded as one of the finest players of his generation because of his skills and elegance on the ball.

Mayanja made his KCCA FC debut in 1987 and played until 1992 before moving to Egypt side Al Masry SC and later Esperance in Tunisia. He later returned to KCCA FC as a player for his second stint in 1996 and as skipper led the club to a semi final berth of the CAF Confederation Cup in 1997.

He played for only four clubs that is KCCA FC, El Masry (Egypt), Esperance (Tunisia) and Lowi FC (Oman).

Mayanja also previously coached KCCA FC in 2005.

Coaching Career:

Mayanja has coached at URA FC/Lyantonde and guided them to the super league. He also had coaching stints with Bunamwaya SC, KCCA FC, Kagera FC, Simba SC, Kyetume FC, AS Kigali (Assistant Coach), Uganda Cranes and Uganda Hippos (u20)

Born: 27th/July/1969.

Schools: Police Children School, Kololo Secondary school.

Achievements: Won two league titles with KCC FC (1991 and 1997). Two Uganda Cup titles also with KCC FC (1987 and 1990). He won three Cecafa titles with The Uganda Cranes (1990, 1992 and 1996). Was Voted Footballer of the year twice by USPA (1993 and 1996).

Clubs played for: KCC FC, Al Masry SC (Egypt), Esperance (Tunisia) and Lowi FC (Oman)

Clubs Coached: URA FC/Lyantonde, Bunamwaya SC, KCCA FC, Kagera FC, Simba SC, Kyetume FC, AS Kigali (Assistant Coach), Uganda Cranes and Uganda Hippos (u20)

Other Changes In The Technical Team

The Club has parted company with Kaddu Badru Mukasa (Assistant Manager), Richard Malinga (Assistant Coach / Junior Team Coach) and Walugembe Fahadie Yahaya (Scout).

The Club recognizes their immense contribution in making KCCA FC the leading Club in Uganda and everyone at the Club wishes them well in their future endeavors.
