FUFA has rescheduled the 2023 Super 8 semi-finals involving KCCA FC and URA FC, setting a fresh date. Initially slated for August 20th, 2023, the semifinal had to be postponed due to URA FC’s loss of their head coach, Sam Timbe, a day before the initial semi finals date.
The new game date has been fixed for Friday, August 25th. The victor of the semifinals secures an automatic qualification to the finals to face Bul FC. In the other semifinal, Bul FC defeated SC Villa to secure their spot in the finals.
Under the guidance of assistant coach Fred Muhumuza, URA resumed training on Wednesday morning. The FUFA Super 8 tournament features the top 8 teams from the initial stages of the Uganda Premier League. This marks a change from the past two editions, which considered the top six from the league and two from the FUFA Big League.
The participating teams in the 2023 edition are were Vipers SC, SC Villa, KCCA FC, URA FC, Bul FC, Wakiso Giants, Arua Hill SC, and Maroons FC.
