The 2023 Airtel – BIKA Tournament reached its pinnacle at Wankulukuku Stadium yesterday, with Ngonge emerging as the champions of the 2023 championship. Ngonge Clan secured this prestigious title by defeating Mbogo Clan with a commanding 2-0 victory in the football category. Meanwhile, in the closely contested netball match, Ngeye emerged triumphant with 37 points, narrowly surpassing Nyonyi’s 36 points.
The BIKA Tournament, deeply rooted in grassroots sports, unites 56 clans, including the royal clan, the Abalangira, representing the diverse Buganda totems. The 2023 edition of the tournament featured thrilling competitions in both football and netball.
Airtel Uganda’s Sales and Distribution Director, Ali Balunywa, extended his heartfelt congratulations to all 56 clans that participated in the 2023 BIKA Tournament season. He commended their unwavering commitment and the exceptional talent they showcased on the pitch since the tournament’s launch in May this year.
