URA FC has officially announced the appointment of David Obua as the new head coach, signing a one-year contract. His coaching team will include Peter Byaruhanga Adyeri as the first assistant coach, Fred Muhumuza as the second assistant coach, Robert Mukasa as the third assistant coach, Ilic Milos as the fitness coach, Byron Okuba as the strength and conditioning coach, Swaibu Ssebagala as the goalkeeping coach, Joseph Lubega as the team doctor, Isaac Ngondwe as the physiotherapist, Luggya Ronald as the kits manager, and Bosco Otim as the assistant kits manager. The vacancy in the URA head coach position arose after the untimely passing of Coach Sam Timbe.
David Obua’s actvie football career is notable during his tenure at UPL club Express FC. In September 2007, Obua achieved a remarkable feat by scoring a hat-trick for Uganda in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Niger, leading Uganda to a 3–1 victory.
