In a surprising twist in the world of football transfers, Vipers SC, the reigning champions of the Uganda Premier League, have officially introduced midfielder Moses Waiswa Ndhondhi to their squad.
Waiswa, who recently parted ways with KCCA FC just within the past week, has committed to a two-year contract with the Venoms.
This marks a return for Waiswa to Vipers SC, having left the club during the 2018/19 season to join South Africa’s Supersport United, where he spent a commendable three seasons. He then made a comeback to Ugandan football at KCCA FC, where he showcased his skills over the last one and a half seasons.
The recipient of the 2018 FUFA Male Player of the Year award, Waiswa didn’t quite leave his mark at KCCA, participating in 31 league matches and scoring only three goals. A falling out with the Lugogo hierarchy led to his release, despite having six months left on his contract.
Now facing stiff competition in the midfield, including talents like Karim Watambala, Allan Okello, Siraje Sentamu, Abubaker Walusimbi, and Bright Anukani, Waiswa finds himself in the challenging position of earning a spot in the starting lineup under the guidance of newly appointed Vipers coach, Livingston Mbabazi.
