TURKISH COMPANY SUMMA TO CONSTRUCT HOIMA CITY STADIUM

Turkish company SUMMA, has been preferred to construct Hoima Stadium. The state minister for sports Hon. Peter Ogwang led the preferred contractors to a site visit and are expected to commence with the visibility study to ascertain the soil type, topography among other things so as to make a report and present design before contract signing.

The minister, who asked local political leaders to create a conducive environment for the project also reiterated the government’s commitment to develop sports infrastructure in other regions; highlighting that the airport under construction in Hoima is mainly the reason why Hoima stadium construction was given priority.

FUFA president Eng. Moses Magogo expressed confidence in the preferred contractor that has built over 180 stadiums across the world. He also revealed that the process of changing the Hoima stadium land title from FUFA to National council of sports is ongoing as per the new sports Act.  NCS chairman Ambrose Tashobya wants the community to seize the opportunities coming with the project expected to be completed in December 2025.
