Kalimuzo Shines at UGC’s Weekly Club Night

The Uganda Golf Club hosted the weekly Club Night on the 21st of February 2024, as a number of golfers thronged the par 72 Kitante course. The competition, which is played in a Stableford Full Handicap format had participants competing fiercely for top honors.

The night’s standout performer was Daniel Kalimuzo, who claimed the Overall Winner title with an impressive 38 points (countback).

The tournament attracted over 80 participants who played in the A, B and C groups with top contenders including; Denis Tindyebwa who scored 38 points under in senior’s category, ladies Group B Winner – Rossettee Tugume who registered 22 points, Fred Kasumba attained 20 points in the men Group B as men Group A winner – Anthony Agaba getting 21 points.

Uganda Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course measuring 6,732 yards in length from the Blue Tees, with a par of 72, set right in the centre of Kampala City. The Club features all the golf amenities, including a club house, a driving range, as well as putting and chipping grounds. The Club has retained the city’s last expansive stretch of greenery, a welcoming retreat amid the busy capital.

Men’s Category.

Group A (Course Handicap 9 and Below)

  • Winner: Anthony Agaba – 18 points
  • Runner-Up: Muhwezi Andrew – 17 points (countback)

Group B (Course Handicap 10 – 18)

  • Winner: Fred Kasumba – 20 points (countback)
  • Runner-Up: Mark Mayen – 20 points

Group C (Course Handicap 19 – 32)

  • Winner: Stephen Karangizi – 22 points
  • Runner-Up: Chris Odur – 20 points

Ladies’ Category: Excellence on Display

Group A (Course Handicap 16 and Below)

  • Winner: Esther Okullo – 21 points
  • Runner-Up: Bernadette Musanabera – 20 points

Group B (Course Handicap 17 – 45)

  • Winner: Rossettee Tugume – 22 points
  • Runner-Up: Connie Nshemereirwe – 20 points

Senior Winner: Denis Tindyebwa
