The Kibuli Secondary School Old Students Association (KOSA) league season three grand finale is set for next Sunday, March 10 at the school playground.
The 13-team league that was established in 2021 is aimed at creating networking opportunities for the school alumni while preserving the school culture through football.
Having kicked off the campaign in September last year with ten match days played across six months, table leaders Showtymers FC, class of 2006 lead the table with 32 points.
The final match day will feature several activities including entertainment and prize giving for the best performers with Board of Directors chairman Prof Kawaase Twaha Kigongo set to be the chief guest on the day.
KOSA league chairman Hassan Hood Ssekatawa believes the season finale will be an exciting climax to the third season of the alumni league.
“The season has been good and we had four more teams join the league. The fact that we had older teams involved shows that people are appreciating the league and it has brought in numbers,” he said.
“I expect the finale to consider the community and students and we brought it home so that the continuing students can know about their alumni league. We will have a CSR program with the girl child and an aerobics session with the students before the games kick off,” Ssekatawa added.
KOSA League sponsors Weli Travel’s Marketing and Sales Representative Ali Patel says the company will cater for prizes for the outstanding players and teams for the season as Secrets Sanitary Towels will offer counselling sessions to the girls on top of the items they will donate.
Class of 2010 Sasi FC won the inaugural edition in 2021 while 1998’s Legends won the title in 2022. Class of 2006 Showtymers are this season’s champions in waiting as they lead the standings with 32 points, ten ahead of second-placed 4Z Tazz FC.
