The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has unveiled the roadmap of the fifth edition of the FUFA Women’s Cup.
The roadmap was unveiled at the FUFA complex by Former Crested Cranes player Oliver Mbekeka and FUFA Competitions Director Aisha Nalule.
The draw saw the top six teams from the FUFA Women Super League and FUFA Women Elite League placed in pot B, while pot A featured seven teams from the FUFA Women Elite League and nine from the eight regions of FUFA.
According to FUFA Competitions Director Aisha Nalule, a total of 40 teams registered for this edition, an increase of eight from the previous tournament.
“This edition has recorded the biggest number of teams participating since the inauguration of this competition,” she said.
A number of the 40 teams already took part in preliminary rounds with the round of 32 draws also held at the event.
The round of 32 matches are slated for March 14th-17th with the round of 16, scheduled for the 23rd – 24th April. The quarterfinals are set to take place between 25th – 26th May while the semifinals are scheduled between 1st -2nd June. The final will fall on either 8th or 9th June.
Uganda Martyrs Ladies FC are the reigning champions.
