Uganda Cranes forward and former KCCA player, Allan Okello, will go against his former employers this Friday as Vipers host the Kasasiro boys at the St. Mary’s Kitende Stadium. Allan Okello, who was signed by the Kitende side after mutually terminating his contract with the Algerian side Paradou AC, reportedly signed a three-year contract costing about 100 million.
Okello, who missed the first leg due to injury, comes into the second leg having scored in the previous clash where Vipers triumphed over Wakiso Giants by 4 goals to zero in a game where the hosts played Vipers at the St Mary’s Stadium Kitende.
Speaking to him on Thursday afternoon, he acknowledged the pressure that comes with the clash between the Kitende-based side and the Kasasiro Boys.
“It’s going to be intense, and we’re giving it our all to come out on top. We’ve been training hard and we’re ready to give our best performance,” Allan said in an interview.
Vipers currently lie in 4th position with 35 points after 18 games, while KCCA have 26 points after 19 games and lie in 10th position.
KCCA will miss the services of Muhammad Shaban, having accumulated 5 consecutive bookings. He scored a brace in the last UPL game where KCCA beat NEC at the MTN Omondi Stadium. Coach Abdallah Mubiru acknowledged that even if they will miss Shaban Muhammad during Friday’s clash, they have a replacement for him, and God knows why he chose Shaban not to be part of the game.
KCCA won the first leg 3-1 at the MTN Omondi Stadium where Shaban score a double in the clash.
The UPL clash will be played at 7pm.
