Stanbic Black Pirates today emerged victorious in a tightly contested rugby game in Game Week 7 of the Rugby Championship at Kings Park Arena. They defeated Walukuba Barbarians with a score of 29 to 21.
Sir Pius Ojeabulu, a player for the Pirates, stood out during the match, contributing significantly to their much-needed win.
Before the game, Black Pirates ranked 4th, while Walukuba held the 8th position. However, Walukuba’s improved performance indicates their growth and competitiveness in the league.
In other men’s category matches of the Nile Special Rugby Championship, Warriors Rugby lost to KCB Kobs with a score of 3 to 34. Impis Rugby suffered a defeat against Plascon Mongers, with a final score of 24 to 8.
Jinja Hippos secured a narrow victory of 20 to 16 against Buffaloes Rugby in a tightly contested match at Dam Waters. At Kyadondo Rugby Ground, Platinum Credit Heathens won their game against Rhinos, with a score of 26 to 12. Life guard Rams visited Eagles and won with a score of 16 to 12 in Kitante.
The Nile Special Rugby Championship will resume next Saturday, March 23rd, with more exciting fixtures at different venues.
