Wokorach and Kasito Spearhead Uganda’s Impressive Start at 13th African Games

Dynamic duo Philip Wokorach and Adrian Kasito proved pivotal as Uganda dominated their opening two games at the 13th African Games. Wokorach showcased his scoring prowess, tallying an impressive 20 points in both matches against Zimbabwe and Tunisia, crossing the try line twice and converting five kicks. Meanwhile, Kasito made his mark with 15 points, courtesy of three tries over the course of the two games on day one.
Reflecting on his performance, Wokorach humbly credited his efforts to teamwork and divine assistance, stating, ‘I’m focused on executing my role to the best of my abilities, and I’m grateful for the success we’ve achieved so far.’ With a mindset geared towards treating each game as a final, Wokorach emphasized the team’s commitment to excellence.

In their first match against Zimbabwe, Uganda secured a solid 14-0 victory, powered by tries from Kasito and Wokorach, with the latter also adding a conversion, while Timothy Kisiga contributed to the scoreboard. In a dominant display in their second game, Uganda overwhelmed Tunisia with a resounding 48: 00 win. The try scoring spree included contributions from Kasito (2 tries), Wokorach (1try ), Nobert Okeny (2 tries), Aaron Ofoyrwoth (1 try), Timothy Kisiga (1 try), and Desire Ayera (1 try). Wokorach’s precise kicking game continued with four successful conversions.
