Teams Confirmed for 2024 Uganda Hockey Easter Cup

Various hockey teams are gearing up for the 2024 Uganda Hockey Easter Cup, set to kick off on Good Friday, March 29th, at the National Hockey Stadium in Lugogo. The teams are a mixture of schools and clubs who will play in a round robin format.

In the girls’ competition, Kyaddondo SS Matugga, St. Charles SS Bukerere, Kakungulu, and Mt St Marys Namagunga will battle it out in a round-robin format.

Meanwhile, in the boys’ competition, contenders including Kakungulu Memorial SS, St. Charles SS Bukerere, and Kyaddondo SS Matugga will clash in a bid for supremacy, in a round-robin format too.

Friday will be action-packed as the school teams battle against each other culminating in a final showdown between the best two schools each category (boys and girls).

As the weekend progresses, attention will shift to the club teams, with women’s clubs such as Kampala Swans, Deliverance Church, Wananchi, and HDF gearing up for intense battles.

On the men’s side, formidable teams including Stallions, Originals, Wananchi, Badgers, and even Kenya’s Wazalendo will vie for glory. Rockets and Thunders will also be in the mix, adding to the excitement.

Saturday and Sunday will see clubs battling it out for supremacy, with the finals set to take place on Sunday evening.

Schools participating in the Girls competition: Kyaddondo SS Matugga, St. Charles SS Bukerere, Kakungulu, Mt St Marys Namagunga

Schools participating in the Boys competition: Kakungulu Memorial SS, St. Charles SS Bukerere, Kyaddondo SS Matugga

Women Clubs: Kampala Swans, Deliverance Church, Wananchi, HDF

Men Clubs: Stallions, Originals, Wananchi, Badgers, Wazalendo (from Kenya), Rockets, Thunders
