Fired Villa Officials Accuse Mandela of Arrogance

SC Villa gears up to face struggling Busoga United this Thursday in one of the two StarTimes Uganda Premier League clashes scheduled for the week.

The hosts, Busoga United, who are financially beleaguered have been grappling with inconsistent training sessions, and are without a win in their last six fixtures.

Currently languishing in 14th place in the relegation zone, they sit 22 points adrift of third-placed SC Villa, who come into the match riding a wave of three consecutive victories.

The Jogoos, who secured a 2-0 victory in the reverse fixture at home in Wankulukuku, face this encounter against a backdrop of internal discord following an alleged altercation involving club president Omar Mandela and the industrious Ronald Sekiganda during halftime against Mbarara City in their previous game. This incident culminated in the dismissal of three team officials.

The axed officials, namely team doctor Emmanuel Nakabago, head of scouting and recruitment Allan Nsubuga Magunda, and junior team coach Saleh Muwayi, have come forward with accusations against Mandela, citing his arrogance and mistreatment of SC Villa staff.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, one of the dismissed officials levied serious allegations against Mandela, stating, “He needs to work with young and needy people. Mandela has no respect. He is abusive and at times goes on to assault players and officials, accusing them of wasting his money.”
